The Double Pyramid: A Wellbeing Model for People and Planet
Many of us are familiar with the classic food pyramid, which provides a reference for healthy, balanced eating habits.
But how does it line up against guidelines for a planet-friendly diet?
Quite well, actually. The Barilla Center for Food & Nutrition has created what they call The Double Pyramid, which places the traditional food pyramid alongside an inverted pyramid visualizing guidelines for an environmentally conscious diet. Together, the double pyramids reveal a harmonized relationship, where the foods most highly recommended coincide with those foods with the least environmental impact, and vice versa.
