MSCI ESG Research has just introduced tools and data designed to help institutional investors measure their alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals.

“Institutional investors are increasingly looking for ways to steer capital towards companies and projects that provide solutions to major social and environmental challenges, but achieving impact at scale can be a challenging proposition.”

Their Sustainable Impact Index aims to identify companies that derive at least 50% of their revenues from products and services which address the environmental and social challenges outlined by the SDGs— which they’ve grouped into five actionable themes: basic needs, empowerment, climate change, natural capital, and governance.
