Illustrating Sustainable Transport Options

Goal 11 on making cities sustainable has many dimensions, but one of the most crucial aspects is transportation. And helping people understand why cars should not receive preferential treatment in city transportation planning is often an uphill climb. So the International Institute of Sustainability has made available some excellent visual resources that illustrate the difference between cars, bikes, buses and light rail trains — in terms of the amount of space they take up, per person.
