According to End Violence Against Children, “approximately one billion children worldwide have experienced physical, sexual or psychological violence in the past year.” An ugly reality they intend to change through the formation of a global partnership committed to fulfilling SDG target 16.2: End abuse, exploitation, trafficking and all forms of violence against and torture of children.

unknownEnd Violence Against Children is an inclusive platform inviting membership by organizations at the global, regional, and country level, who are committed to ending violence against children. The partnership has its own set of goals focusing their work— Build Political Will, Accelerate Action, and Strengthen Collaboration— each one with its own set of targets. The partnership additionally runs a fund granting financial support to programs and activities that accelerate action in three identified priority areas: preventing online violence, addressing violence in the everyday lives of children, and preventing violence against children facing conflict and crisis.

If you want to learn more about the issue, the End Violence Against Children also provides a bank of free resources for download, including a UNICEF publication detailing six strategies for action.
